Dud.

Sometimes you gotta play the small shows to appreciate the big ones. Tonights show consists of the thee acts and their girlfriends. Eh, it happens... Cant complain though, i am still on vacation.
Gonna lay off the drinking tonight... Yes i said it. Its a bit of a drive back to pacific beach so there ya go.

Spent.

So... I just got done with a marathon day drinking session. 4 hours to be exact. Kinda hard to leave when the music is bumping, the drinks are flowing, and the skin is showing. Me and my buddy Rick lucked out with a great table at Lahaina's, a very cool drinking spot right on the beach. (See pic below) None the less i did this sans sun tan lotion and now my arms look like they belong to a lobster. Thankfully we had some nice people that lent me and my buddy Rick some lotion but I'm pretty sure the damage has been done. Anyways all in a good days work. I'm gonna go pass out for a couple of hours now. Then showtime.

I don't know what the hell I'm doing up at 9am...??? Anywho last night rocked! Damn it was good to get to play with some old school pals again. Needless to say even only after one rehearsal with those guys I faired pretty well. Especially after a few RBV's and a Jack and coke. Then again when the crowd is slammin' em' just as much as you are things tend to go much more smoothly. Suprisingly I also made it through their new songs pretty well. Those are the ones where the actual thinking applies eh'.

Waking up to the sound of the ocean is one of the theee nicest things to wake up too. I thought I was back home in Hawaii for second sleeping on the beach. Weather wise it's still a little overcast out here but I'll take this over 100 degree heat anyday. I didn't get a chance to take any pics of the action last night, between juggling drinks and playing their wasn't much time to pull out the C-Phone and focus. I'll try and do better tonight.

My only complaint (if I am allowed...) is that there are more spanish language channels on TV then there are english and if I was more of a fan of the World Cup I'd be in heaven. eehhh' but I know what you're thinking... "What the hell are you doing in your room trying to watch TV when there is a beach 50 yards west of you dumbass?" - Point taken, TV off.

Well, off to shower and then find a breakfast spot that serves expensive coffee.

BTW, I can't watch a news channel here without seriously laughing my ass off... Jazz flute anyone?

About 50 yards to my west I have beach... nice and not bad for a weekend. Just got into the luxurious Pacific View Motel. The accommodations suck but you don't pay for a nice room here.. uh' uh, it's all about location, location, location baby and this place is boasting that. Anyways the weather is a bit overcast and it's about 70 degrees out. Gonna chill here for a bit and find the nearest liquor store. (You know I couldn't pass that up) Sound check at 6:30 ish and then party face. I'll snap some pics of the place a bit later. Hopefully some sunny San Diego weather will creep in. Unless it's all lies!!!!!!

Ok so I lied, looks like I'l be taking my road worthy laptop with me today just in case work calls me and says they need something from me. AlthoughI don't know how I'm gonna email anything while driving 80mph down the freeway??? Ehh' whatever. Anyways as my previous post says, I ended up going to some 80's party last night that RoachClip was DJing at. Turns out it was for some big law firm and they had rented out a whole conference room with black jack tables and some 80's band from San Francisco that dropped every single 80's song you can think of. It was a drunken 80's orgy of lawers whom you could tell don't get out much. You haven't seen anything till you've seen 300 or so lawyers drunk & wasted AND doing the 80's dance in groups... Needless to say Roach and I were quite entertained. Off to San Diego!

Looks like Blogger.com has been having some performance problems (yes, there I said it... ). If you're having problems hitting this page don't worry... so am I. But I think the problem is being addressed. Anyways, this will probably be my last blog via PC for the weekend. After this I'll be blogging from road and in San Diego via phone, not the easiest thing to do when the keys are the size of peanuts but what the hell. I'll try not to go crazy with the pics this time like I did last weekend in vegas. But who knows... it is the beach. For those of you out there that know me pretty well and actually take the time to read my ridiculous blogs, you know that I am a fan of cool belt buckles. I've been getting urge to go out and find some fresh buckles lately and have been browsing around to find my next one. There's a store here in Phoenix (Tempe really) called Plush Clothing where I frequent often. I've probably payed their rent there a few times. Anyways they have some really cool clothing as well as buckles and I'm guessing that my next one will look sorta' like this.... well maybe exactly like this. What ya' think?

Can You believe It?

It actually rained today in phoenix... I almost stripped down naked and pranced around like a little girl. Amazing what the lack of water makes you feel like doing. Wet T-shirt contest anyone??? On a side note I just got wind that TBS is running "Old School" all weekend... There is a God.

So, as most of you know I have an older sister Cameo who is also a musician and unlike me actually writes and performs her own music. I've had the honor of playing on some songs she has written and in my utter musical opinion she gets better and better with every song she writes. She has a CD out called "Pages Of Green" that you can sample (and purchase) off her Website as well as her Myspace page. She also has an alter ego band called The Pubes that will rock the sh*t outta you..., matter of fact if you are looking for something to do this Friday night go check em' out at Hollywood Alley in Mesa. They're throwin down out there and believe you me... they are quite the show man. Dig it.

Touring

So... I'm heading out to San Diego this weekend to fill in on drums for a former band of mine who's drummer couldn't make it. Needless to say I am pretty psyched about the trip. As most of you know my current band is the Phunk Junkeez and we tour nationally a couple of months out of the year. Anyways it has been awhile since we've been on the road between working on a new record and dealing with other band issues. So to say that it will be nice to get outta town for a weekend to play some shows makes Mikey a happy boy. I love San Diego and I booked a motel room right on the beach for the weekend. I'm also gonna get to hang out and do some drinking with some old school pals whom I have the utmost respect for. So if you're in the San Diego area this weekend hit me up and come party with us... You guranteed to get drunk. Otherwise you can tune in here and look at blogs of me getting drunk.

It's 9:30 am and I'm already being bombarded with questions about stuff I know nothing about at work... eh' wait, not true, I do know about most of this stuff I just act like I'm clueless first and then if it gets past that then I make an effort to actually contribute. I know it's a lazy way of doing things but I'm a little lacking on the inspiration end these days. Anyways, saw "The Producers" on DVD last night. I must say was a good movie but any movie set at the 3 hour mark starts to fade with me, regardless of how good an actor Nathan Lane is. So there you go... it's tuesday. (Coffee sip..., coffee sip..., coffee sip...)

Don't know what's up with the pictures not all showing up??? Refreshing the browser will randomly pull up some and not others. Ehhh', if there are any of you out there that actually want to sit here and keep refreshing your browser to eventually see all of them then you are just as ridiculous as me and you might want to look into entertaining yourself in other ways.

Case of the mondays

Finally back in phoenix in one piece... barely. Had a great time in vegas for Chuck's birthday no doubt. I didn't have access to any quality internet connection while i was there so this is really the first time I get to see all the photos on screen and in full size. Didn't realize I had taken so many... probably because I was drunk for most of it. Anyways, gonna have to stay away from that city for awhile, or at least until I get back on speaking terms with my liver.
