Happy Mike

Thoughts for the weekend...

Every friday afternoon (usually right before happy hour) I come to the edge of a metaphoric cliff and stand on the edge to look out into the vast scenery known as the weekend and ponder what lies ahead for me this time. Drinking? pool time? free day? Perhaps all of the above...

Tonight I will be filling my late evening with the COTW show that I've been so eagerly pumping up all week. I don't know if I've already said it but I'm looking forward to it. A home show with these bunch of cats is a great treat for me, being that my current music projects are "hibernating" so to speak.

Saturday maybe some laundry... my boxer drawer is getting pretty thin nowadays and if I don't address the issue soon I'm going to have to pull out the 3rd and 4th stringers. eeewwwhh' (5th string are tighty whities by the way, let's hope it doesn't come to that). Saturday night I imagine will encompass some kinda fun with alcohol. One can only guess... OH' YEAH! Forgot to mention that Saturday is "Free Day" in which I get to pig out and eat just about anything I want for a full 24 hours. This usually starts late friday though somewhere around 2:30 am. QuickTime taquitos here I come.

Sunday I'm pretty sure I'll be feeling the pain which makes for a good day of rest. Also I'm sure my living space will be a total mess. I tend to neglect it during the weekend and live in a sty for a day or two.

There it is my take on this weekend... I'm curious to know what you out there in internet land are cooking up for your weekend... leave your stinkin' comments below and by the way, all you "Anonymous" people out there, let's be a little more creative huh'?

Thanks

Today

Friday

Every Friday if I remember, I always check out the pictures of the week at msn.com. It gives me a little window to look into what else has been going on in the world this past week beyond my little cubicle based lifestyle. Check it out if you have 5 minutes full of nothing to do.

Also today my buddy Tom, whom has made an appearance more than once here on my luxurious blog space is coming back from his family trip to Mexico. He packed up the whole family in his pathfinder (2 kids and the in-laws) and drove down to the beach for a week. He said he's supposed to be rolling back into town around 5-ish and the beauty of it is that he's already hit me up wondering about where happy hour is today. Now that's a trooper I tell you.

ahhhh...., I love the smell of Fridays.

Rock Never Stops

Good ol band rehearsal. Feel it...

On overload

I can't take it anymore, I'm finally posting my list of the most overated / overkill celebrities that I'd rather chew my arm off instead of hearing anything more about:

(In no particular order)

1). Taylor Hicks (American Idol Winner,... can't believe I just wrote that.)

2). Paris Hilton (Need I say more?)

3). Nicole Ritchie (see previous entry... and a sandwich)

4). Jessica Alba (My women have to pack more ass than that.)

5). Brangelina (Too perfect, I need my celebrities with blemishes and weight problems)

6). Britney Spears Motherhood (I still consider her a teenager... then again that works too.)

7). Dixie Chicks (Playing the fiddle does not equal political correspondant)

8). TomKat (I'd pay money to see what's inside Tom's noggin' these days.)

9). Lindsay Lohan (I don't even have a witty comment for her)

Ahhhhhhhhh, that feels much better...

Break

Afternoon cereal break... Special k bitches.

bored... again?

Japan Subway... This made me laugh, out loud.

bored..?

Everybody is blogging.

Thursday

Rented and watched 16 Blocks last night mostly because I'm a fan of MosDef and because Bruce Willis looks like sh*t in it. Turns out he does play a washed up cop who is on the verge of a mental breakdown. Anyways, great movie with a big fat "Thumbs Up" from me.

On the announcement tip, I have another show with my former band Cousins Of The Wize this friday at Chasers in South Scottsdale or "South-dale" as it's called by anyone who is anti North - Scottsdale. (Sorry all you out of towners, it's a pride thing here...) So if you wanna come see my ugly mug and listen to some great party music and trade shots with me come on down like the Price Is Right.

And since I'm on the announcements, the new Pink Taco resturant is opening here in Scottsdale this weekend. The original Pink Taco is a resturant in the infamous Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas... I guess they figured AZ was worthy enough to host another one which works out great for me cuz the they have great food and of course will probably have hot waitresses whom also will want nothing to do with me.

Habits

I was reading and article the other day about habits (bad or good) that people have and don't really realize it. Quite insightful and made me think about things that I do and sometimes don't even realize it. So I made a list..., and a revealing one it is for me. These are all things that I've noticed or have been pointed out to me by others of things I do:

1). Raise my right eyebrow whenever I get my picture taken. (Dunno what's up w/ that)

2). Labeled "The quiet one" when hanging out with a group of friends.

3). Easily fall into monotonous routines. ("Time to make the donuts...")

4). Frown more often then smile (and not even realizing it...)

5). Always drive.

6). Am considered "Smart" among my non work friends because I know how to write computer code. (I just know how to write code, that has nothing to do with being smart, trust me).

7). Looked upon as a "Pretty Boy". (That one I'll never agree with.)

8). Let my big toe nails grow out way longer than they should be before cutting them. (I don't know how forget this one, I look at my big feet everyday...)

9). Air guitar more than I air drum.

10). Drink the most out of all my friends whom drink with me.

11). Never call home enough. (This one is probably the worst one of em' all.)

I guess this is where I take this list and put it in my pipe and smoke it.

Lacking...

...Inspiration today.

Wednesday

Thought this article was pretty interesting... has to do with a new legislation being proposed to introduce "favoring" of internet sites based on monitary contribution. I'm not much for politics but this is crap... check it out if you're bored out of your noggin'.

As for last night I fared well. Kept my drinking to an acceptable Tuesday night limit and actually got more hours of sleep then I thought I would, topped out around 4 1/2 hours... brilliant.

Tuesday night

Looks like I'm hittin' up a bar called the Q Lounge tonight in west Phoenix with my favorite DJ RoachClip. Now, I know what you're thinking... "Didn't you learn your lesson on Sunday night you little drunken monkey boy!!" and the answer to that is yes, I did. So if I end up blogging tommorrow about how hungover and sick I am from drinking you have full permission to slander my name in public... I gotta learn some how and if you can't rely on your friends and fans to slander you then who can ya' trust eh'? Tonight will be a hard lesson in moderation.

hit' meh'.

Heat

108 in phoenix today... My boxers stuck to the inside of my legs and my armpits assaulted my shirt with stinky sweat. Kinda know what being inside the devils ass feels like...

That'd be my xterra there.
Just wanted to get a pic of it in case it ever gets stolen and i have to show the cops a picture. Also if my sunglasses ever get stolen too.

myspace

So..., Today I tried to add Tommy Lee as a friend on myspace. hhmpphh' only on the internet, and such a site like myspace can such feeble attempts be made to attach oneself to celebrity status...

I'm pathetic.

(Oh god please make him add me...)

A prayer answered

Holy Sh*t! I may be off the HOOK !

dialer

Also wanted to add that my drunk dialing is out of control... I 've realized that some of my friends now save them and are compiling "Best Of" collections of some of my best work. Watch for the CD to hit stores the Fall.

Slacker

So... because of my carelessness on Sunday night and my sever hangover yesterday morning I decided to go home from work yesterday at lunch sleep it off. I ended up taking the rest of the day off from work and slumming it at home. Do I feel guilty?... yes, but as I was leaving yesterday I started feeling like my stomach was about to offer everything back to me that I had eaten for breakfast. That's where I draw the line... the throw up. So I think I did the right thing and luckily no one was really looking for me anyways at work. That's the first time I've ever really had to leave work because of my championship drinking the night before but I figure it's better than passing out on my keyboard and having random emails being sent out because my forehead is hammering down on the "Enter" key.

Correction...

... debit card is in my pants pocket. I am a little drunken monkey. :)

A big fat Monday.

Note to self: Don't get bombed on a Sunday...

Went out last night and did basically everything you're not supposed to do when you get drunk on a Sunday:

1). Stayed till closing

2). Left debit card at bar

3). Drunk dialed ex (Sorry apes')

4). Prayed to the god of porcelain.

Recap

Boom!... weekend trip is over. Just got back from my 5 hour drive from San Diego. As read below in my previous posts last night was a bit of a bust but hey' that's the biz especially on the road. Take note all you "Haven't toured yet" bands... it happens sometimes. Needless to say I still had a great time hangin' out with the Cousins Of The Wize and Golden Tung. Fortunately I have another show with the Cousins this Friday at Chasers, can't beat home shows and I have a feeling his one is gonna go off.

The trip as a whole was great... The whole time I was in San Diego I couldn't help but think of ways how I could actually try to make a move here??? Living back close to the beach is something I think I'll have to do at some point. It's all about the benjamin's I guess eh'?

Also thought I'd mention that last night was the first saturday night I wasn't bombed on red bull and vodkas... funny how waking up on a Sunday morning without a hangover changes your whole perspective on what you think you can achieve that day... hmmmpph'.
